We're seeking a Unix Engineer for our Support Team Group. The Team manages a large group of Unix servers and workstations.

The primary focus of the Team is to provide a highly available, consistent, and resilient operating environment for application deployments. This includes both engineering design and support responsibilities. There is an on-call pager that is rotated through the engineers and the on-call requirements include being able to provide support remotely quickly come on-site to address support issues directly.


Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of:
Unix Administration in a commercial enterprise environment.
Storage Networking experience
Perl Scripting
Experience with Unix Performance Tuning
Strong Trouble-shooting skills
Ability to develop time estimates for project schedules, monitor progress and provide accurate and timely reports.

Non-Technical Skills A minimum of 5 years IT experience on multiple platforms/technologies
Ability to provide Leadership within a specific technology area, or across multiple technology areas, to complete root-cause analysis, perform testing, provide documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work well with Customers at all levels (Leadership and Non-Leadership).
Ability and willingness to mentor others Ability to multi-task

Nice to Have Skills (Skills that would be beneficial but are not required)
Technical Skills (i.e., language, database, applications, software, hardware, etc.)
Familiarity with Synchronous and Asynchronous messaging technologies Familiarity with Web Services Familiarity with N-Tier application deployments and support models Familiarity with Database technologies. Primarily Oracle and Sybase Familiarity with Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence Concepts Familiarity with airline industry
