Emdeon (ěm•dee•ŏn) is a market leader in helping providers, payers, pharmacies and patients electronically exchange clinical information and automate an inefficient paper-based healthcare system through revenue and payment cycle solutions. Our solutions simplify key steps in the business, administrative and clinical processes from the first patient encounter through the final resolution of payment to save time and money. Our solutions are delivered primarily through recurring, transaction-based processes that leverage our health information network, the single largest financial and administrative information exchange in the U.S. healthcare system. Our health information network currently reaches approximately 1,200 payers, 500,000 providers, 5,000 hospitals, 81,000 dentists, 60,000 pharmacies, and 150 labs. In 2011, we processed a total of approximately 6.4 billion healthcare-related transactions, including approximately one out of every two commercial healthcare claims delivered electronically in the United States. We have developed our network of payers and providers over 25 years and connect to virtually all private and government payers, claim-submitting providers and pharmacies.
